An open letter for my Mom

Mommy Dear,

I don’t know how to start this letter, because I have so many things in my heart that I need to say to you. Have I told you how grateful I am to have a mother like you? I know I haven’t. I don’t know how to say it, that’s why I’m just showing it through actions and I hope you get it. :)

Ma, I just want to say I’m very sorry for the times that I didn’t stood up on you. Sorry if sometimes I am so mean. Sorry, if sometimes or should I say most of the time I’m not following the things that you’re saying on me. I know how hard it is to raise up 3 girls without Daddy around since he’s working abroad. I know it’s a huge responsibility for you. But i want you to know that you did a great job eventhough sometimes it seems that you’re raising up 3 boys. :) Thank you for taking care of us, for your understanding, for always believing in us and supporting us all the way.

Thank you mom for not giving up on us. Remember the time when a big crisis hit our family? I almost loose my hope that time. I know how hurt you are then, but still you stood up for us. You never let other people ruin us, and the only thing that you told me is that maybe it really do happen in every family. You just stay strong and calm, despite all the hurt that you keep in your heart. I admire you for that.

Thank you for taking care of me when the time I just gave birth. I appreciate you more since I became a mother myself. I wish I could also do the things that you’ve done on me to my daughter. When Lola Terry left us, I know how hard it is for you since you’re an only child. Don’t worry Ma, we will take care of you as long as we live. We will never leave you. Nobody can hurt you. I know thank you isn’t enough for all the sacrifices that you’ve done and will still do for us. I LOVE YOU MOMMY DEAR. Keep on rocking! :)

Love,

Hersy

I’m back! I’m back in the blogosphere with my new theme (big thanks to hubby for upgrading my site and changing my theme) and I’m back here in Hopia Wonderland. Actually, I’m here for more than two weeks now. Sorry if I posted this one too late, I’m enjoying time with hubby. :) We’ve been to different places, you can look at our pictures at Kotsengkuba’s site. He already posted some and I’m still studying the gallery part of this site. According to hubby dear it’s better than before and I’m still exploring it since I can only use his notebook at night when he gets back home from work. So what am I doing with my daily existence here if there’s no pc and internet? I do household chores and after that I watch CCTV9, the only english channel here, I read books and magazines that I brought with me. Sometimes I take walk outside, go to the parks or buy something from the convenient stores around the village, but I don’t talk with them. I just smile. hehehe! It will be a major head boom boom if I will try.heheheh!

I got a message from MsPinkBiik telling me that she tagged me. Sorry girl, I can’t do that here since the great firewall of China blocked many sites. I can only open my emails and friendster account. Waaahhhh!!! Napakalupit nila!! :(( As soon as I get back in Philippines I will do it. Promise! :)

Prisoners in China

25 Pinays who are supposed to work in China are now in jail. According to the news, an African men whom they don’t know personally approach them while they were still in the airport here in the Philippines asking them if they can help them  bring some of their baggage since they already reached the allowed maximum weight of baggage per passenger.  These African men promised them to pay $300 if they will bring the bag with them but upon arrival at the airport in China, the Pinays were arrested for Drug trafficking. The sad part is, the African men were not with them since they told them that they will take the next flight going to China and told them that they will call as soon as they get there. They were just helping and now, they’re the one who are in prison and waiting for what punishment they will give to them.

I know it’s really natural for us Filipino to be helpful with others, but what if these things will happen to us? The lesson here is, it’s okay to be kind and helpful with others but we should also be aware that there are some people who’s trying to win your trust and won’t do good on you. I hope that the Philippine Consulate General in China will help these women since the reason why they’re going in China is to work for their family here in Philippines and not to sell drugs. Should they have known about these earlier, maybe they will never help those foreign men. Let’s pray for them and I hope that they will be free soon.

What’s Happening Now?!

I woke up this morning feeling deppressed. Why? Because I heard from the news that the price of petroleum gas increased again by P0.50! OH MEN!!!! If I remember it right,  the increase started since the last week of February up to now. And it’s the 7th time na nag increase. If you’re going to sum it up, nasa P3.50 na ang itinaas. Am I going to use a bicycle now? :( Oh my gulay!! Kahit gulay ang mahal na din. And just this morning I bought a milk for our daughter, I asked the store clerk if the milk already increased, good thing because according to her there’s no memo yet about the price increase for the milk but not until May. Hay! Taas ng taas ng presyo ng bilihin pero hindi naman nagtataas ng sweldo. :(

Holy Week in Tagaytay

We always do Visita Iglesia every Holy Week, but this year… pass muna. ;) Actually, we had a plan last Maundy Thursday but we got up late that’s why our plan has been cancelled since we know that if we will not hit the road early, we will be stucked in a heavy traffic here. So we decided to do it some other time. Pag wala na masyadong tao sa Tagaytay. ;) We just stayed at home and had a movie marathon instead, but later that day I need to go out and go to the nearest supermarket or drug store to buy milk for our daughter. I had no choice, so I drive anyway. The nearest supermarket from our home usually takes me 10 minutes to drive. Yes, you read it right. 10 minutes! ang lapit no?! ;) But that day, it took me 1 hour. Ganon ka traffic dito, specially during holidays. There are alternate routes but you will still end up in a heavy traffic and usually mga liblib talaga na daan. And going back home took me only 30 minutes.

Everyday whenever we eat, Tifa always sit on my lap. And I’m always having a hard time eating, specially now that she also want to eat by herself. So, we bought a high chair for her. Now, we can eat well unlike before and it’s also good because it’s one way of training her to eat on her own.

Missing Children… Missing Organs…

For a week now, I have been receiving emails and text messages from different people some of them I know and some of them are really complete strangers.  They were sending messages that informing me of a new syndicate whose kidnapping toddlers, elementary students and even highschool students. According to the messages, this new gang are involve in selling internal organs and they’re victims are mostly children whom they think are healthy.

At first, I am not paying attention to this messages I thought it’s a modern version of “satanismo”. I remember when I was still in grade school when I first knew aboout it I was really scared that I came to the point that I don’t want to go to school anymore. But it was only today that I am alarmed by that news. When I saw my cousin came home earlier than the usual time he’s coming from school.  I asked him why he’s early, I thought it’s their examination week. But he told me that they were dismissed early due to the incident that happened from a nearby school. Their School Principal called all the parents to fetch early their child, afraid that the same incident might happen on their school. According to my cousin, there are few students who have been kidnapped in that school.

Here’s one of the text messages that I’ve received. I don’t know who’s the sender, but whoever they are, thanks for the warning.

Here’s an article from the Journal Online posted last February 22, 2008:

Gang selling human parts seizes 30 kids?

Many families in Batangas are in a state of anguish over the disappearance of their children.

Report said at least 30 children in the province have been missing and feared kidnapped by a syndicate selling human parts.

Chief Supt. Ricardo Ilagan Padilla, Region 4A police director, said he has ordered an in-depth investigation of the mysterious incidents that finally caught his attention after this reporter and a colleague from the media sought clarification from him.

Padilla said he has alerted the police directors of Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal and Quezon after receiving reports that at least  two toddlers were reported missing and believed to have been abducted by a crime syndicate in Ibaan, Batangas.

There were already reports of the mysterious disappearance of scores of toddlers particularly in several towns of the eastern section of Batangas who may have been victimized by the syndicate.

The two who are still missing were identified as Patricia M. Patena, five years old, and Fatima V Bosita, 6, who both left their houses in Poblacion, Ibaan last Feb. 19 but failed to return their houses since then.

The worried families of the missing kids sought police help in view of an alarming report that scores of toddlers are also missing in the neighboring towns of San Jose, Ibaan, Padre Garcia and Rosario, all located in the eastern part of Batangas.

They feared about a persistent report that a dreaded syndicate said to be involved in selling body parts particularly eyes and internal organs may have been involved in the disappearance of their kids.

Padilla said he is still verifying the parents’ claim that their children had fallen victims of the same crime ring who allegedly make huge money out of selling human eyes and other body parts to potential buyers in Metro Manila and even in other countries like the U.S., China, Japan and Taiwan.

It was gathered that the syndicate usually strikes in the early afternoon until early evening and police said they are verifying reports taht about thirty toddlers have already been victimized by the gang in the said Batangas towns.

Padilla said that if the reports are true, he will not hesitate to use all necessary measures to address the problem that has already alarmed Batangas folks.

They say that the said gang are targeting the CALABARZON area. I still don’t know if it is really true or not. Let’s just take care of our children and don’t let them play outside.   Anyway, it’s our responsibility to take care of them.

On Belly Dancing

Posted March 10th, 2008 by

I bought a Belly Dancing video, and for 3 days now I am trying to follow all the dance instructions on it. Hoping that one of these days I’m going to have a body like those girls on the video. But I know it will take a long time, maybe forever to achieve those kind of curve that they have. :) And now my body is aching, because I don’t do exercise everyday. At first, you will think that the steps are easy but it’s not!

When I was still working in Makati. I’ve been planning to enroll in one of the belly dancing school here in Philippines, but the location of the school is far from my work. It is located in Quezon City, and I can’t attend everyday since we always need to have an overtime from work. So, I just drop the idea of attending a belly dancing class. I just want to loose weight, and for me I prefer belly dancing than other class like Taebo, aerobics and others.

I envy Shakira when dancing. I am mesmerized on how she do those shaking and stuff. I can say that she’s really a gifted one when it comes to belly dancing.
