A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
BIG BIG THANKS!!!

I told myself that I am not going to blog about this not until Tifa’s condition is really well. Tifa has been confined in the hospital for a week. T’was not a good experience for a first time mom like me and to think that we are in a foreign land where an English speaking Doctor is really hard to find. I have experienced sending people to Hospital, riding an ambulance before. But it’s different when it’s your own daughter you’re sending. The sound of the ambulance siren is like my daughter’s heartbeat. Holding her pale body was the most painful thing for me. If I could be in the same condition that very same time I really would just to spare her from all her illness. But now, SHE”S DOING WELL. Thanks to all who prayed for my daughter. We really owe you guys a lot. Thanks to our Chinese couple friends, to the Noypi’s in Shanghai and Kunshan. You guys really rock! You don’t know how grateful we are to have you. To our family and friends, thank you very much.
It may never be a nice experience for us but if we are going to look at the brighter side, it’s the experience that brings us closer to God. And A BIG THANKS TO HIM. He gave us wonderful people to be with us during our weakest time and for lending our daughter another life. It’s Him whom we owe a lot. With that, I have learned to value life more. To love more and to trust whatever plan He have for us.
Worth it!

Having 3 girls in the family, we can’t blame our father why he’s sometimes strict to us. Why he’s always checking my two siblings their whereabouts. He works abroad, and we are left with our mother most of the time in Philippines. So he decided to buy something for my two siblings that they can use for defending themselves.A 5.11 Tactical Knife that you can bring anywhere for self-defense especially when you are traveling alone. At first, my two siblings were hesitant to accept it and they always say that they can defend themselves without it. But they were wrong because last October 31st, a day before All Saint’s Day something bad happened to them particularly with my youngest sister.
Many passengers bombarded bus terminals that day so that they can go back in their own provinces on time. My two siblings had been among the millions of passenger that day. They’re going back in our province from Manila. Aboard the bus, and they are seated apart since there were many passengers and they didn’t have a chance to sit together. My youngest sibling fell asleep. In the midst of her dream she was awaken by something that keeps bumping on her side. Then she checked what was it only to found out that a man sitting beside him was doing some malicious act. She remember that she have the knife that’s why she brought it out and said that if he will not stop it she will use it to him. The man was shocked to see what she’s holding and stop whatever he is doing and transferred to another seat. My sister felt relieved and thankful to have a knife for herself. When my father knew about it he said that he didn’t regret buying it. It was really worth every cent.
Did I miss something?

Last night, hubby keeps on asking our daughter if she will do a caroling this Christmas. As if Tifa can sing a Christmas carol, she only knows some song but those are from the cartoons that she’s watching everyday. And where in here she’s going to do that? Are the people here celebrating Christmas like the way it is celebrated in Philippines? By the way, this is going to be our first Christmas away from home. So, I wonder how it’s going to be like.
Back to the topic, KK also asked me to teach Tifa some Christmas carol. Is he serious?! And I told her that it’s his idea so he should be the one to teach Tifa.
Then he asked me if I did experience that? Caroling from house to house with your DIY instruments, then I said no. I’m very shy then to do that. He told me that I don’t have a happy childhood if I didn’t experience that.
I grew up in Manila where children were excited for December 16 to come so they can do the traditional caroling with their tin cap tambourines, a drum made of milk cans wrap with a plastic to make a loud sound and some use a whistle. They will go in a group then sing house to house. I remember how my cousins will pass by in our house and would call me to join them in caroling. But I never go with them. Why I never did? Because I was really shy to do it, it’s like your asking for money to others. No offense meant to those who did it. It’s just how I see it then.
So, I always refuse my cousins invitation. I remember the look on their face every time they’re counting the money they earned from it. On how sometimes they would fight on dividing it because one of them had snack and used the money. While some children would want to go solo flight because they don’t want to experience the hassle in dividing money, so they would go alone without any instrument. And you’ll get surprised because suddenly there’ll be someone singing outside your house without you noticing their existence.
What a selfish kid.
Just because I never experienced doing a carol like that doesn’t mean that I never had a happy childhood. I also did experience doing it but not the way that a normal kid in our place would do. I did experienced it and also with a group of choir. And we’re not singing house to house because we had a Christmas Concert in our parish. Modesty aside, but I was once a member of a chorale. Maybe, I didn’t get a chance to sing like what KK sang when he was still a kid but it doesn’t mean that I don’t have a happy Christmas memories.
Maybe I missed that part of my life. When it’s Tifa’s turn, I will encourage her and will ask hubby to make an instrument for our daughter.
And This is it!

Yesterday morning we woke up feeling really cold. So, I checked the temperature for and it is 7° C.
And today, the forecast says that it is 4° C. Wow! It is really freezing cold from a native coming from a tropical country. I wonder how I am going to cover my daughter when the temperature reaches 0° C. Then suddenly, all the worries and fears that I had before start to cross my mind again. What if she gets sick? Oh Lord, I hope it won’t happen. I don’t know how I am going to converse with the doctors in the nearby hospital. They will not understand me and I don’t think a hand gesture will explain it if ever. A Language barrier is one of the main problems that most foreigner experience here in Hopia Wonderland. We only know a few words, enough for purchasing some stuff.
So, I asked myself after checking the weather. Is it winter yet? Is it already a flu season? I need to prepare now all the medicine, moisturizers, and clothes to keep Tifa protected from a possible sickness.
- Sunlight or Flashlight?
- And it is really a sunlight!
- And the forecast says it.
Oh I hate this! I feel like panicking every time the wind blows. ‘Cause it is really cold.
Mission accomplished

Yesterday morning, my husband asked me to pay for our water. Since the supply in water here is different back home. They’re using a card here to check if you still have enough water supply. If not, you need to pay first and they will recharge it for you. I didn’t object to the idea that I will be the one who’s going to pay for it, since KK is busy with his work and I consider it as a challenge since only a few people here can understand and can speak English. So I went to the bank. He told me that I need to pay it in Agricultural bank here. I have been on the first bank that he said, but the Hall Manager told me that they’re not accepting payment for water. Actually, I didn’t talk to him. I just showed him the card and he said many words that I can’t understand and he’s pointing outside. So, before I faint inside the bank because of the garbled words that he’s saying, I went out thinking that maybe I’m in the wrong place.
So, I went to the second agricultural bank that I saw, it’s a bigger one compared to the 1st one that I’ve been. And luckily, there’s someone there who knows how to speak English. Wheeew! Thank God! I feel relieved. So, I asked her and she told me that the banks aren’t accepting payment for the water anymore and there’s a small office for the water payments now. And she did a map going to that place. Just across the first bank that I’ve been. Hmmmm, maybe that’s what the man trying to tell me.
I went inside the payment center and showed the card to the girl in the counter. And she asked me something and I just nod as if I understood every single word that she said and gave her the money. And she hand me the receipt on which I couldn’t also understand except for the numbers in it.
- receipt and the card
- our water meter
As soon as I get back home, I checked our water meter if they already recharged our water.
It was a nice experience at least not a traumatic one. A mission accomplished.

“Mommy, deyti!!”
September 20, 2008 · Print This Article
Tifa’s starting to talk well now. The word “deyti” is one out of the many words that she’s using. In her own vocabulary words that only she can understand. And deyti means dirty.
She doesn’t want to see dirty things. Say for example, whenever someone’s calling her to come over and hug her she’s making sure first that the hands of those people are clean. And if she saw that your hands aren’t clean, you will hear her say “eeewww!” My father can attest to that.
Even if she’s eating something and as soon as she found out that her face or her hands are dirty, she will immediately stop eating and will call you to clean her face or hands. Worst is, she will try to tell you that she’ll take a bath even if she already did.
Here’s a video after she found out that the chocolate chip that she has been eating messed her hands.
I hope when she gets older she would change her being “maselan”. ![]()
Counting Airplanes
September 18, 2008 · Print This Article
Students has gone back to Korea so it only means one thing, I’m jobless again but not permanent. My employer asked me to have a vacation for a few months until the students arrive again on winter vacation and that will be on November. But I don’t think I can work again since a month from now we will go back in Hopia Wonderland and we’re going to stay there for indefinite time. So, goodluck my dear students. hehehe! I can still remember what Mrs. Lee told me; “You come back November. OK? Now happy vacation first.”
And what’s keeping me busy these days? I’m counting airplanes that pass by.
That’s how BUM I am. Our home isn’t near the airport but I have noticed that there are many planes passing by everyday in less than an hour. So I started counting. I know it’s nonsense.
Actually, I really can’t wait for October to come. Tifa and I will go back in China to be with Daddy KK. If only I could change the month now, I would. But of course it isn’t possible. So I’ve got no choice but to think of any activity that will make me productive. Any suggestions?!
For now I’m going to count planes that pass by until we board the plane that will take us to Daddy KK. ![]()
